Murghab in January: a unique winter experience in the Pamirs. Temperatures plunge to -40°, frozen rivers and icy wind, snow, rocks, ice. Winter is the best period to watch the legendary gigantic wild sheep of the Pamirs, the Marco Polo during the rutting season – and a good opportunity to view foxes, ibex or the occasional wolf. Sure, it gets a bit chilly. But if you dress properly and don’t get stuck in snow overnight at 4,000 m, you’re very likely to survive. The images to take home and the memories to keep are quite unique.

We can arrange:

  • Accommodation – in heated rooms with hot water on request: experience the legendary hospitality of the inhabitants of this desolate but beautiful mountain region
  • Guided wildlife photo safaris to some accessible hotspots in the remote mountains of the  Eastern Pamirs
  • Transportation from Dushanbe – Khorog – Osh or from Osh to Murghab – Dushanbe
